A man who was living in a vacant Canyon Country condominium was arrested for theft of utilities after deputies discovered that an extension cord inside the condo was connected to an electrical socket inside a laundry room, authorities said Wednesday.
Deputies suspect somebody broke into a laundry room at the 26700 block at Nugget Drive, Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said in an e-mail. Deputies followed anextension cord connected to an electrical socket inside the laundry room into a vacant condo.
Inside, they found a 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of utilities. According to arrest records, he was being held Wednesday at the Sheriff’s Station on $20,000 bail.
